Name: | Lithium Plus | Function: | Lithium (Li) is often deficient on whole blood testing reports, and is naturally present in only scarce amounts in the general food supply. Li functions as an alkalinizing agent, and is helpful in balancing body and brain chemistry. Easily crossing the blood brain barrier, Li relaxes nerve membranes and facilitates synaptic transmission from one nerve cell to another.
| Most Useful For: | Lithium (Li) is well known to be beneficial in the treatment of bi-polar disorders. Successful use of Li in this capacity, however, requires large daily dosage amounts (300-600mg), which at such high levels can cause damage to the kidneys. In smaller dosage amounts, Li is safe to take in deficiency states, and can be very useful in cases of anxiety, neurosis and even phobic disorders. Li is also helpful in ADD and learning disability cases, and has been shown to prevent or delay the development of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. | This product may have the following benefits: | The natural mineral Lithium (Li) is beneficial as a calming agent, as a mood stabalizer and as a natural form of relaxation. It has also been reported to be helpful in cases of manic depressive (MD) disorder, and in the cyclothymic personality variation characteristicly associated with MD. It can be safely administered to children with attention deficit disorder (ADHD) and has been shown to improve focus and concentration in many of these children.
